Liu Jia Qu Qian: Unveiling the Wisdom of a Noble Structure in BaZi

Last updated

In the world of BaZi (Ba Zi) astrology, the Liu Jia Qu Qian is a rare and precious structure. It not only embodies profound cultural significance but also reveals the nobility and wisdom present in a person's life path. Today, let us uncover the mysteries of this configuration together.

Composition of Liu Jia Qu Qian

Liu Jia Qu Qian, as the name suggests, is composed of the six Jia days and the Hai hour. Specifically, the six Jia days refer to the six Wood day masters (Jia Zi, Jia Yin, Jia Chen, Jia Wu, Jia Shen, and Jia Xu). The Hai hour refers to the five time periods of Yi Hai, Ding Hai, Ji Hai, Xin Hai, and Gui Hai. The core of this structure lies in the Water of the Hai hour. It serves as the "Birth" stage of the Twelve Life Stages (Shi Er Chang Sheng) for Jia Wood and can nourish the Day Master (Ri Zhu). At the same time, it implicitly combines with the "Prosperity" rank of Yin, making this also a type of "hidden prosperity structure" (an lu ge).

Methods for Identifying Liu Jia Qu Qian

To determine whether a person possesses the Liu Jia Qu Qian structure, the following conditions must be met:

  1. Day and Hour Restriction: The chart must feature one of the six Jia days, and the person must be born during the Hai hour.
  2. Unfilled Prosperity: The Earthly Branches (Di Zhi) of the Four Pillars (Si Zhu) should preferably not contain the character Yin, so as to avoid filling the position and causing entanglement.
  3. Unharmed Favorable Element: The branches should preferably not contain Fire, to prevent punishments and clashes from breaking the structure.
  4. Pure Structure: Strong and prosperous Wealth stars should preferably not appear in the pillars, to avoid damaging the Resource star of Ren Water hidden within Hai.
  5. Hidden Officer and Killings: It is unfavorable for Direct Officer (Zheng Guan) and Seven Killings (Qi Sha) to be exposed in the stems and branches, lest they harm the Day Master.

Meaning of the Liu Jia Qu Qian Structure

Individuals with the Liu Jia Qu Qian structure typically possess traits such as benevolence, righteousness, a peaceful state of mind, and resolute integrity. Water symbolizes wisdom, origins, and ceaseless nourishment. When Jia Wood leans toward the northwest, it is like a great tree growing by the water—deeply rooted and full of vitality. Therefore, the chart owner is naturally endowed with wisdom, able to receive the protection and support of noble figures and elders, and enjoys a stable and blessed life.

Favorable and Unfavorable Factors of Liu Jia Qu Qian

Favorable

  • Resource Stars Revealed in the Stems: When Ren or Gui Water penetrates the Heavenly Stems (Tian Gan), it draws out the power of the Resource star hidden in Hai, making the structure even more potent.
  • Weak Officer Generating Resource: It is favorable to see Xin Metal in the heavenly stems. Acting as a Direct Officer, its strength is not overpowering enough to harm Jia Wood; instead, it can generate and support the Resource star of Ren Water within Hai.
  • Strong Day Master Welcoming Wealth: If the Jia Wood Day Master is strongly rooted and prosperous by holding the Month Command (Yue Ling), then Wealth stars are not considered unfavorable. Instead, they are welcomed to balance the prosperous self.

Unfavorable

  • Yin and Si Filling, Punishing, or Clashing: If the character Yin appears in the natal chart or the Luck Pillars (Da Yun) and Annual Pillars (Liu Nian), it fills the position and causes entanglement. If the character Si appears, it clashes and breaks the foundation.
  • Wealth Star Breaking Resource: Unless the Day Master is exceptionally strong, Earth Wealth stars like Wu, Ji, Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei are a great taboo for this structure.
  • Entanglement by Mao: Hai, Mao, and Wei form a three-harmony frame (San He) of Wood. If the character Mao appears in the chart, it easily forms a greedy combination with Hai, thereby weakening its function of implicitly combining with the Yin prosperity rank.
