What is Nayin Five Elements?

Nayin is a classical system that assigns one element to each successive pair of stem-and-branch combinations in the sixty-year cycle, thirty in all — Jia-Zi and Yi-Chou are "Gold in the Sea", Bing-Yin and Ding-Mao "Fire in the Furnace". It runs in parallel with the elements the stems and branches carry natively.

How it is used in a BaZi reading

Nayin is used mainly in classical methods such as the San Ming Tong Hui lineage, and in date selection and marriage matching, to give the year pillar or a whole pair of pillars a single, more vivid characterisation.

Interpretive limits

Modern Ziping practice reads a chart from the native energies of the stems and branches and from the Ten Gods, treating Nayin as reference material. Where a conclusion rests on Nayin alone and contradicts Day Master strength or the structural reading, the latter normally prevails.
