- The year pillar changes at LiChun (start of spring, around Feb 4), not at Lunar New Year — a common source of wrong charts elsewhere.
- The month pillar follows the twelve solar terms (JieQi), not lunar months, so leap months never affect a BaZi chart.
- The day pillar comes from the continuous sexagenary day count; the hour pillar assigns one earthly branch to each two-hour interval.
- Times are read as local clock time of your birth place; no true-solar-time adjustment is applied. The whole calculation runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
