Check if the stems are revealed: Next, we must check which of the hidden stems in the Month Command branch is revealed, determining the structure in the order of primary, secondary, and residual qi. If Geng is revealed in the Heavenly Stems, it forms a Seven Killings (Qi Sha) structure; if Ren is revealed, it forms an Indirect Resource (Pian Yin) structure.

3. Incorporate special combinations like the directional frame and three-harmony frame: Finally, incorporate special combinations in the branches, such as the directional frame (san hui) and three-harmony frame (san he), to further confirm the structure.

1. Direct Officer Structure: The Month Pillar (Yue Zhu) features a Direct Officer (Zheng Guan). It is best if the Direct Officer is revealed in the Heavenly Stems, though it is also acceptable if hidden within the Earthly Branches. 3. Incorporate the directional and three-harmony frames: Special combinations in the branches, such as the directional and three-harmony frames, are also very helpful in confirming the structure.

4. Understand factors that break the structure: Understanding the factors that cause a broken structure (po ge)—such as mixed Officer and Killings (guan sha hun za), clashes and punishments, or constrained Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches—helps in accurately judging the auspiciousness of the native's fortune.
