Overview of Liu Yao

The predictive study of Liu Yao, also known as the Nayin (Na Jia) oracle method or the Fire Pearl Forest method, is one of the most important practical prediction methods in traditional Chinese Yi studies. Using the 64 hexagrams of the Zhou Yi as its foundational framework, it integrates the theories of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, the generation and control cycles of the Five Elements, and the Six Relations to form a systematic predictive framework.

Fundamental Principles

The core concept of Liu Yao is the unity of heaven and humanity: when a person has a question about a matter, they obtain a hexagram through a specific casting method, and this hexagram serves as an informational map of the current question. By interpreting this hexagram, one can infer the developmental trends and the outcome of the matter.

Key Characteristics

1. Highly specific - Liu Yao predicts specific questions, such as "Will this interview be successful?" or "How will my finances be this year?"
2. Clear timeframes - It can predict the trajectory of events within a specific time period.
3. Rich in information - A single hexagram contains multiple layers of information, including the querent, the matter in question, relevant people, and time nodes.
4. High verifiability - The predicted results can be verified against actual outcomes.

Steps of Liu Yao Prediction

1. Casting the hexagram - Obtain a hexagram through methods such as tossing coins, stating numbers, or using the current time.
2. Assigning the hexagram - Assign the Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, Six Relations, and Six Spirits to the hexagram according to the Nayin method.
3. Analysis - Identify the governing line, then evaluate its strength and its relationships with the other lines.
4. Interpretation - Synthesize all the information to draw a predictive conclusion.

Scope of Application

Liu Yao can predict almost all daily matters, including romance, career, wealth, health, lawsuits, travel, and finding missing persons or objects. However, it requires a clear question and a sincere mindset, as the saying goes: "Sincerity brings results."

Differences From BaZi

BaZi analyzes an individual's innate destiny and structure through their birth time, whereas Liu Yao performs immediate prediction for specific events. BaZi examines one's "destiny," while Liu Yao examines "matters." Each has its own strengths, and they complement one another.
